Transfers throughout the Czech Republic and Europe
How to get from Prague Airport to the city centre
Václav Havel Airport (PRG, the old Ruzyně) is about 17 km west of the centre. By car the trip takes 25–35 minutes, up to 50 in rush hour.
Terminals
- Terminal 1 — flights outside the Schengen area (UK, UAE, Turkey, USA and others).
- Terminal 2 — flights within the Schengen area.
- Terminal 3 — private and charter aviation.
Terminals 1 and 2 are connected, a 5–7 minute walk apart.
How long the drive takes to specific places in the centre:
- Wenceslas Square — 25–35 minutes
- Old Town Square — 30–40 minutes
- Prague Castle — 25–35 minutes
- Vinohrady (Prague 2) — 25–35 minutes
Public transport
- Trolleybus 59 — to Nádraží Veleslavín metro station (line A), about 15 minutes. It replaced the well-known bus 119 in March 2024, so older guidebooks are wrong about this.
- Bus 100 — to Zličín (line B), about 18 minutes.
- Bus 191 — a long route through the city, about 50 minutes, connects to lines A and B.
- Airport Express (AE) — direct to the Main Station (Hlavní nádraží), every 30 minutes, separate ticket 100 CZK.
- Night buses 907 and 910 — about 45 minutes to the centre.
- Car sharing — available at the airport, but it needs app registration and is awkward with large luggage.
Buy PID tickets before boarding — from the machines (they take cards), at the counters or in the PID Lítačka app. From 1 January 2026 the basic fare is 39 CZK paper / 36 CZK in the app for 30 minutes, and 50 / 46 CZK for 90 minutes. With luggage, take the 90-minute ticket.
Taxi from the rank
Licensed operators work at the ranks outside both terminals. A ride to the centre normally comes to 600–800 CZK, though the total depends on traffic and your final address. Ride-hailing apps work too, but you have to find the pick-up point yourself — it is set away from the exit.
Private transfer
The driver meets you in the arrivals hall with a name sign, helps with the suitcases and takes you to the door of your hotel. The price is agreed in advance and does not change, even if the plane is delayed or the traffic stops.

The price is per car, not per passenger — for a family or a group that usually beats public transport outright. Fuel prices in the Czech Republic move, so the final figure is confirmed when you book; once confirmed, it is fixed.
Important: the airport parking fee is already included. That is the line item many services leave out and add at the end.
